First of all, I need to thank my mom for wishing me a happy birthday 2 days in advance. I think she was absolutely mortified when she missed my birthday a couple years back and I called her out on my blog...lol!
All has been going well in Boulder. The weather has been gorgeous and I have started training fairly hard again. My first hard day was yesterday: a nice, painful run with Mirinda Carfrae and Laura Bennett. I got my doors blown off, but I loved every second of it! I can't wait for another session!
I have been seeing a series of doctors since arriving back from CDA trying to find answers, and I am in the middle of lots of testing.
The latest is that I have been given the "go ahead" from my cardiologist to do a race. She wants me to get into a half-IM asap. She wants to hook me up to a portable EKG device to wear during the race. As I have said before, we can not make my heart rate go "nuts" in training. The only time it happens is in a race. She feels that a race is the only way for her to get a good read on it. So now it's race time...I'm thinking the first weekend of August.
We are in the process of ruling everything out that may be heart related before we plan for any surgeries.
Thanks for all of the warm wishes and kind notes. I appreciate it more than you know!
Happy Training!

happy b-day Amanda!
I so disappointed that I won't be at Steelhead!
Happy, happy Birthday!!!!
Amanda, I saw you race at Rev3 (bravo) while watching hubs race (AG). You did such an amazing job, especially in light of your health concerns. Also, glad ML's introduction to the rear quarter-panel of that car was not worse! I enjoy, as a total spectator, reading your blog. Helps me understand the hubs a bit more! Wishing you all the best for a swift, good, and easy diagnosis of your heart issues! Happy belated b-day....here's to many, many more.
Happy belated Birthday to you and Congratulations to Michael on his win at the RI 70.3!
